Flipboard APK Pulled From The Galaxy S III, Available For Download HERE

version leaked is 0.7.17 which means it’s not completed yet.
However, usability is quite good and looks gorgeous just like the iOS twin.
There is one thing I still don’t like about it though, that they still keep the iOS mindset of keeping things in exclusivity. First of all, exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy SIII, which we already know now: it’s not possible with Android. Secondly, the exclusivity of sharing only to Twitter, Facebook and email links; also, “read later” feature only support Instapaper, Readability and Pocket (formerly known as ReadItLater). The thing I really like about Android is that I can hit Share button and there goes the whole list of all the possible applications I can use to share, including HootSuite, my favorite app to schedule my tweets throughout the day instead of tweeting 10 tweets at once; I can also use customize URL-shortener (the famous ow.ly) to see how many clicks I receive for each tweets and where they come from. Unfortunately, Flipboard doesn’t give me ANY of that. The app even requires me to login to my Facebook & Twitter accounts.
Thinking you can just add a “right-click” feature for the menu button on Android devices and you’re done? Wrong, Flipboard. We want more than that. I can ignore the fact that, some articles don’t open in the right format of the app (the flipping style + typeface), instead, it shows me straight scrolling non-formatted text with no option to change the typeface and size (not to mention the night-mode to save battery on the poor device with large SuperAMOLED screen). But at least, move the account settings and sources adding to menu options, will ya?
Well, I think Flipboard already know and hear a lot. Version 1.0 should be hitting the Android Play Store as soon as the end of this month or early June since the apk has been shared around the neighbourhood since yesterday. So much for S3’s exclusivity. Well…. I really want to get my hands on it right now… Or maybe I should start bidding on some Galaxy Note, I hear ICS for the Note is already in the wild.
Other News Readers for Android I’m currently using are: Pulse, Google Current and Feedly. Checked out News Republic last week but I didn’t like it.
